Addressing site drainage and soil challenges

Identifying key challenges in site drainage and soil conditions, including a nearby waterway's impact and clay soil dynamics.

18 December 2023

Our recent site evaluation revealed critical factors that will shape our approach to drainage and foundation design. Notably, the presence of a nearby waterway could significantly influence surface conditions and necessitate a tailored foundation strategy. To address this, we have pinpointed specific locations for trial holes, ensuring that our sub-structure design aligns precisely with the site's unique characteristics. Furthermore, soil analysis has classified the area's soil as predominantly clay, prompting us to plan for extensive soakaways. This measure is crucial not only for effective water management but also to prevent any rainwater discharge from affecting the adjacent lower-lying property. Our proactive steps in these early stages are vital for laying a solid and sustainable groundwork for our project.
